As you will be aware shopping for motorcycle parts is pretty simple these day just follow a few basic common sense precautions and you won't go far wrong.

But assuming you known what part you need or want you then have made the decison to buy from the aftermarket or to puchase an OEM (original manufacturer part) part.

OEM parts are regarded by your motorcycle manufacturer as genuine parts and these will mean when used and fitted correctly your warranty will still be intact. Where as using cheaper aftermarket parts usually the manufacturers warranty will be void.

Some people (main dealers especially) will tell you that aftermarket parts for your motorcycle are inferior and in some cases this may be true. But provided they are brought from a reliable source and you are not worried about your warranty more often than not they are as good as the original parts.

Quite frequently the aftermarket part will be the same part but not have the same packaging and licence requirements thus it can be sold cheaper.
